Immersed
in the green of the hills of Valdarno Valdarno Fiorentino, at approximately
5 kilometers from Rignano sull'Arno, you will
find Torri, a small Tuscan village, merely a handfull of houses, surrounded
by vineyards and olive groves. It is in one of the oldest buildings
of Torri that you will find the Restaurant da "Pampurio", where
Paolo and his wife Marcella, together with their daughters Sandra and
Silvia and son-in-law Filippo, await for you to taste their genuine
cuisine.
You will find a true family atmosphere;
Marcella in the kitchen, continues the tradition of the typical Tuscany cuisine,
rich
with simple ingredients
that are however capable of making those who love "eating healthy" feel
extraordinary. For almost seventy years, without much fanfare, the Restaurant
da "Pampurio" has been the point of arrival for lovers of the Tuscany
cuisine. A restaurant that has been passed from generation to generation,
starting in the 1930s when Marietta, Paolo's mother reigned in the kitchen.
The Restaurant da "Pampurio" has a characteristic environment
with room for 80 people. The dining rooms are rustic and tables are set with
simplicity but with care. On the walls you will find various 1930s magazine
covers of the "Corriere dei Piccoli" where a cartoon character
appears with the nickname Mr. Pampurio, a nickname also given to Paolo who
together with his daughters decided to call their restaurant - da "Pampurio".
The emphasis of the restaurant's menu is on rustic flavors, seasoned only
with extra virgin olive oil, pasta and home-made deserts, which are Marcella's
pride and the secret of the Restaurant's success.
